Corrugated Packaging Giant West Rock's Strategic Move

Corrugated packaging manufacturer West Rock announced plans for a new 590,000-square-foot box plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. According to the company's announcement, the plant will cost about $140 million and is expected to open in 2025.
The Southeast Wisconsin region plant will require a rail spur and the city of Pleasant Prairie has applied for a $1 million grant to support construction of the spur, according to the Kenosha News.
West Rock has said that the plant will allow it to meet increased demand for corrugated packaging in the Great Lakes region and to operate more efficiently. It also announced the closing of a plant in Seattle, Washington.
West Rock is a publicly traded corporation based in Atlanta.
