Read About The One-Year Delay for Forest Supply Chain Laws...

The European Union has announced that it may delay implementing its new supply chain regulations for forest products by one year to December 31, 2025 (or later for some small enterprises).

They are currently set to go into effect at the end of 2024. (There is an exception for small European businesses that provide a six-month delay)

The regulation is intended to reduce global deforestation. The regulations would apply to timber and forest products shipped from the U.S.

The European Commission proposed the delay in October after receiving pressure from other countries and their forest products businesses, including from the United States. The EU Parliament needs to approve the delay.
